Twist Ending

There was a family that lived in a rural home. It was what you think a farm family would look like. There was a mom, her name was Janet, and her daughter, her name was Beth, they did chores around the house and kept everything nice and neat. The fathers, named Earl and his two sons, Troy and Terry, were heavy built guys and were very strong. The three of them kept the farm running and working nicely and neatly. They all never really saw anyone besides each other, every once and awhile the boys would go into town with their sister and get some stuff for around the house, but that’s about it. They didn’t go to school, their father thought it would have been a waste of time since all there were doing was farm work and school was 10 plus miles away. He said it would just be a waste of gas. The house didn’t have fancy electronic things; just a radio that barely worked and they only got one station on it. Whenever they listen to that station, the radio guy was talking nonsense and was talking about aliens invading the earth and zombies attacking everyone, the family started to ignore what he said and just had him on every once and awhile for entertainment. And so they wouldn’t have to listen to eat other try to be funny. One day the guy on the radio said, “It is happening, the zombie apocalypse has begun!”
Beth said, “Daddy is that true?”
He responded, “Honey, you hear all the nonsense that man talks when he’s on here, he is always saying crazy stuff like this, none of it ever happens. So do you think it’s true?”
She said, “I don’t know, he said it was happening. All the other stuff he says will happen.”
“Well I don’t think it is true, and I say we don’t have anything to worry about.” Earl told her.
“Okay papa.” Beth agreed.
Many days went by with the radio on, the family thinking he was talking nonsense and the daily ritual being the same. One day the boys had to go into town and get some things for the farm, of course their sister wanted to come with. She loved going into town and looking at the big buildings and seeing all of the crazy people and how they were dressed. The city was about an hour away and the whole car ride Beth wouldn’t stop talking about what the radio guy said, she asked her big brothers, “What are zombies?”
“They are the walking dead, people that die, and come back to life.” Troy told her.
“I want to meet one!” Beth exclaimed “I wonder what it would be like to talk to one!”
Terry said “They don’t talk, they don’t have a brain.”
“Well how do they communicate?” Beth wondered.
“They grunt and growl.” Terry explained.
Beth was so excited to see if they were real, she wanted to see zombies. She never once stopped talking about them, let alone thinking about them. They got into town after a long car ride, walked into the store and saw no one, they called out but no one answered. So they started walking around the store to fine what they needed and see anyone was there. They found no one. So they got what they needed and left, no one was there to take their money, so why pay or leave money, the boys decided to split what their dad gave them and pocket it. They went to the gun shop to take some guns if no one was there. No one was they took the nicest guns they could find and all the ammo they could carry. The only problem was that they needed to hide them from their dad because he wouldn’t have liked the fact they had them all, and that on top of that they stole them. They thought of excuses they could tell him, they were preparing for when the zombies came? He wouldn’t believe that. They wanted to go hunting? They already had guns for that. Where could they hide them, the barn, in one of their rooms, or in the shed? They decided they would go back and ask their dad if they could buy a few guns from the gun store next time they went into town and if he said yes they would hide them somewhere and wait till next time they went into town to show him them.
On the way home Beth looked sad and let down. Troy asked her “What’s wrong with you? On the way into town you wouldn’t shut up, now you won’t talk.”
“We didn’t see any zombies.” She said, “I wanted to see one and see if you two were telling me the truth about them.”
“Why would we lie to you Beth?” Troy said in curiosity.
“To mess with me and make fun of me if I believe you.” She replied.
When they got home the boys asked their dad if they could buy some guns next time they went into town, unlike they planned, he said no. Now they had a big problem. They had all these guns, and no way to get them in the house without their mom or dad seeing. They decided maybe if they were very quiet and sneaky, they could do it at night while everyone was sleeping, so that night they split the guns in half and snuck them into their rooms and hid them in the closets that no one ever looks in.

Days went by and everything was going normal, and then on Wednesday the radio guy they listened to, never came on, the radio was silent the whole time he would usually be talking. All of them thought that he was maybe just sick or he quit. The week went on and he never came back. So they stopped turning the radio on. As they looked toward the road more and more cars would drive by every day. It was summer and more people must have been going on vacation, that’s what they thought at least.

The following Wednesday they started seeing people walk toward their farm and didn’t know what to think about it. Earl got in the truck and sped off toward the mass of people. As soon as he got there, the rest of the family seen him whip the car around and drive back going faster than he was on the way there. He pulled up, jumped out of the car and screamed, “ZOMBIES!”
“So he wasn’t kidding?” Janet exclaimed.
“I guess not!” Earl yelled.
He went upstairs and got all of the guns that he had and all of the ammo. Him and the boys went outside and were going to try to stop as many as they could, maybe all of them, Earl said there were only about 400 and they are already dead, so they couldn’t be that hard to stop. All the movies they had seen in theaters in the city made it look really easy. The guys met the zombies head on and, they were as easy to kill in real life as they seen in the movies. No matter what they didn’t stop coming toward the house and the guys were backing up and running out of ammo very fast. It looked like they had no hope. As soon as everyone got into the house they ran upstairs and tried to barricade themselves in a room and use the little ammo they had left, maybe the zombies would leave they thought. Maybe they would get bored and not be able to find them. From somewhere inside the house gun shots rang out, they looked around at each other and at the same time yelled “Troy!”
He yelled back “Come out of the room, Terry and I have guns in our closets!”
Terry had totally forgot about them, the whole family used the guns they had and started killing the zombies faster than they could come in the house, a short half hour later, the attacking zombies were killed and the family was alive and well. They all were on edge, but exhausted from fighting the whole day. The last one fell asleep at four o’clock in the morning. None of the family would wake up again. A few more zombies had hid in the barn, and snuck in and killed them all.

Class recap

I really enjoyed this class. It was a lot of fun. The lyrics were fun because all the different types of music I got to hear and I liked most of them. It was also nice to hear what other people thought about the lyrics and what they meant. I catch myself thinking about meaning and stuff in the lyrics of the songs I listen to. I found out that poems are easier to write when someone tells me the structure to use and when I am given a topic. I like writing more after taking this class. I also liked that the class was in the computer lab and if people wanted to they could read what we wrote and I could read other people's posts. The people I sat next to made the class more fun as well.

One negative about this class was the repetition. I liked everything that we did, but it started to get boring toward the end of the quarter. It was basically the same thing every day and it just got a little boring. In my opinion that was the only negative about the class.

Badt restaurant experience

A bad experience I had at a restaurant was in Maryland. My dad and I were in that state because of a big My worst motocross race that only comes once and awhile. We went to an Ihop on the way to the track for some breakfast. When we got in it was almost empty and one of the waitresses told us to seat ourselves, so we did. We sat there for a while minutes and looked at the menus we grabbed and decided what we could eat. One of the waitresses told us she would be right there to take our order, five minutes later, she still hadn't taken our order. My dad said we will wait another five minutes and if no one had come to take our order we were going to leave. Five minutes rolled along and we started to get up and leave, as soon as we were about to walk out of the door, the waitress told us she was ready to take our order and asked us to come sit back down. My told told her we were waiting for around 20 minutes and no one had helped us so we were going to go across the street for food.

Restaurant

If I had money and opened my own restaurant the name would have something to do with outerspace and maybe aliens. The restaurant would look futuristic so it would catch people's eye when they drove by. They would see a spaceship on the top of the building and bright colors on the outside with a sign that has a lot of bright lights on it for the late eaters. On the inside it would have silver chairs with read leather or fabric on top to make them comfortable. The booths would have the same color red leather or fabric as the chairs. Everyone that would work there would be very high energy and very friendly. That would also be the atmosphere in the restaurant I would hope. If it was people would come back and tell their friends about it so I would stay in business. The food that would be served would be typical food a restaurant would serve, but it would be better tasting and bigger than any other place in the city.

Science Fiction Story

I do not know how long I have been frozen, but it seems like it has been a long time. I feel like I have forgotten how to walk and I have no idea where I might be. My first steps are wobbly and are shaky because I was frozen for so long. I begin to walk around to see what I can figure out, the building I am in is abandoned. I begin to walk inside, the city is trashed, it seems like Time Square in Manhattan. The streets are littered with burned cars and broken glass. What happened to the city? Is it like this all over the world? What is going on? Where is everyone? These are only some of the many thoughts that were racing through my head faster the speed of light.
As I walk through the city I begin to realize it seems abandoned and left to rot like the building in Time Square that I walked out of. I yell to see if anyone will yell back or come see if something is wrong, but all I hear is the echo of my voice in the lonely city.  I wander for what seems like forever and the more I walk through the city the more worried I get. Am I the last person on the earth, I wonder to myself? I continue walking, I hear something behind me, I look, and nothing is there. I see a weapons shop, I walk in there because that sound scared me, I grab a few guns, a backpack, and ammunition. Once I gather my courage and calm down I start walking down the street again. I hear more noise behind me and look behind me, but again I see nothing. I start to walk faster and it turns into a jog. I hear things all around me now and my heart is racing at a mile a minute and I have no idea where I am going, and no idea what is going on. All of a sudden my legs just stop moving, my body goes numb, I’m frozen in place, a figure appears in front of me, and it looks like a human. Then something hits the back of my legs and I fall to my knees, then I feel something hit me in the back of the head, and I go black.
When I regained consciousness, when I opened my eyes, I could see a small hole with light coming through it, other than that I was in a small dark room with nothing in it, I began to walk around in the room to see if I could find a door or something that I could use to escape. I found the door, but of course, it was locked and wouldn’t budge no matter how hard I pulled on it. From outside I heard a woman’s voice yell “Stop pulling at the door. You ain’t getting out.”
I yelled back “Who are you and where am I?”
The mysterious voice said “That’s for me to know and you not to worry about.”
“Just give me a name to call you.”
“Call me Tori.”
“Okay Tori, now where am I? And where is everyone else?”
“New York City. The rich people, Mars or the moon, everyone else, here.”
“Well why isn’t anyone outside or walking around on the streets?”
“Scared.”
“Of what?”
Tori went on to explain to me, everyone that is still in the city are always armed with guns and weapons. She tells me that she is the leader of one of the most notorious crews in the city. She tells me how all of the rich people left because people started to make robots so they wouldn’t have to do and work or anything but the robots became, almost independent and stopped following orders from the people that created them and start cause problems. Anyone with money could leave because the rockets that took people to the moon and mars were still controlled by humans. It would cost a small fortune to get on one of these rockets, and if they weren’t filled by people, they wouldn’t take off. It was like an airport, but no matter what you had to plan ahead of time for your flight. Eventually people stopped making plans, and the rockets stopped taking off, everyone that hadn’t left, would never leave. She didn’t tell me how, but she was appointed leader of the Free People, or that’s what they called there crew at least.
Tori has been hearing rumors from that the robots in other cities are starting to attack people, they are trying to get rid of everyone. She does not believe any of these to be true. Then one day a man from another city came to New York and tells her that he had to flee from his city to New York because the robots were taking over, he told us to expect the same thing to happen. He said almost everyone in the city was killed and that there may be a few more coming to seek refuge with us, but not many at all. I could see in Tori’s eyes she was scared when she heard this, she didn’t show it to anyone else, she couldn’t. Then they would be scared. She and I had become very close in the recent months. She told me how scared she was and she told me how she didn’t think any of us would survive, but she couldn’t let anyone else know that or they wouldn’t try. So I kept her secret, but didn’t give up hope.
So Tori decides the best thing to do was get everyone that has weapons, which was most people together to at  least try to slow the robots down. She managed to get quite a few people, I was very surprised at how many actually showed up. We all met in a banquet room, I don't exactly remember where, but we filled it, and more. Some of the electronic smart people managed to get speakers set up for Tori.
I will always remember what she said, "The times are tough, but we are tougher. We will not go down without a fight!"
Everyone shouted, "YEAH!"
It was a scene straight out of an old war movie.
She went on, "I will not let them beat us while I'm alive!"
Everyone agreed, "YEAH!"
"You are all are brothers and sisters and I would die for you!"
Everyone started to clap.
She goes on saying, "Are we scared?!"
"NO!"
"We made them, so let's destroy them!"
"YEAH!" everyone exclaims.
We wait in days  of anticipation, but nothing happens, we see no robots. We begin to wander if that man was lying. We didn't know him, No one did, We begin to question him, he swears to us that he is telling the truth.

We wait in days of anticipation, but nothing happens, we see no robots. We begin to wander if that man was lying. We didn't know him, no one did. We begin to question him; he swears to us that he is telling the truth. After a week of waiting, we saw shadows in the distance and we heard robot noises, the time had come. Everyone started to get nervous, no one could stay still. We had more people than them, there were only around 400 and we had upwards of 2000, it shouldn’t be a problem I thought. They are stronger and much bigger than us though and our bullets were not going to do a lot of them. I told Tori this and she agreed with me, she said we would have to get close to them and go directly to their circuit breakers.
They were only about a football field away now; everyone shouldered their guns and got ready to fight the robot army. Tori was waiting to give us the signal and made sure everyone aimed at the head because she knew that that’s where all the important computer components were. She waited until the robots stopped before she yelled “Fire!”
As soon as she did this a thunder of gunshots rang through the city. I was almost deafened by the sound. Some of the robots fell and got destroyed, but it didn’t even put a dent in the entire army of them. We only got about 25 of them, and they did not stop, not even flinch for a second. I thought to myself that this is going to be a long, hard, and intense fight. Some of the military and police robots started to shoot at us; we totally forgot to take account for them. Tori yelled, “Shoot the robots with guns first!”
Everyone began to direct their fire toward those robots, we found out they were built with stronger metal than the others because it took us twice as long to make them fall. As the battle went on more people were dying, even when the robots were close to us. They were too strong for us, we were losing people like rain hits the ground during a thunderstorm. I told Tori we had to get out of the city and try to save our lives, she refused and told me over and over again, “All these people died trying to save my life and everyone else’s life, I will not just run away and let them die in vain. If you want to leave, go ahead, but I want you to stay here and fight with me, you are my best friend and I would not want to die with anyone else.”
I had to stay. I couldn’t bring myself to leave after she told me that, I faced the fact I was probably going to die, it was my reality. All of a sudden I wasn’t scared; I was honored to be fight next to such and amazing woman and all of these amazing people. Hour after hour the battle dragged on, the only people that were left were the strongest, most experienced fighters, and me. I couldn’t understand why I was still there, I mean I was just frozen for 100 years and had no idea what was going on and had only played with toy guns as a little kid.  As soon as all of the people started to lose faith in them, and everyone else around, we saw people coming toward us in the distance, they were actually people. How did they know we were in trouble? Who are they? They started shooting at the robots and we all got excited and faith was returned to us.
With our new found help, the battle didn’t last very much longer. It was only about two hours. After the fight we went over to who looked like the leader of our help and asked him why he came and how he knew we were going to be in trouble. He told us how all of his men were stationed on a military base and the robots started to attack them awhile back. Then he went on to say that one of the military veterans in New York managed to sneak out of the city and wanted to warn his fellow soldiers about what was going to happen. When he got there, he noticed it already happened and told them it was going to happen in New York. So, the first thing the next day they started marching to the city to help. We were so grateful to them and all of the survivors joined forces and went marching city to city, to make sure all the cities were okay and wouldn’t be attacked.

Picture

This man, was sitting in his chair then he saw something moving under the rug. He jumped out of his seat and picked up the chair he was sitting on to smash the moving rug. He wanted to know what it was, so he waited and waited for it to come out but it just stopped moving, then it disappeared, so he set the chair back down and started to read, then out of the corner of his eye he saw it again, so he jumped up and grabbed the chair again, this time he did not hesitate to slam the chair down onto the moving rug, it stopped as soon as he hit it and then he looked to see what it was, there was nothing there. The only thing he could think of it being was a ghost.

Behind her the noise escalated...

Behind her the noise escalated and a fight broke out. No one knew why, it just did. And as soon as it started her noise and all the other noise, went silent. The fight continued for minutes on end, more and more people started to join and start to fight. It was an all out brawl and everyone in the area was fighting. They were going crazy! The venue was too small for all the mayhem. Then as soon as it started, it stopped. And her noise began again.

The clock winked...

The clock winked at me, then time stopped. It was straight out of a dream. I have no idea what is happen and am so confused. The clock must be magic, the only thing that could move, was me. I didn't know what to do, I was baffled. It was a movie, I don't know how else to describe it, I was all alone, no one to talk to, no one to hear me. I decided I had to make this stop in time fun. I found the fastest car I could and started racing through the streets of all the cities I could make it to. I was flying and no one could stop me. I wasn't sure how long this would last, but I was hoping it would last a very very long time. It felt like I was in a dream.

Spring Break

Over spring break I went to Montana. We went to Big Sky Resort and snowboarded for three days. On the first day we got there it had snowed overnight so there was a little bit of snow on the ground which made it fun because there was some powder. On the second day of snowboarding it snowed quite a bit overnight and all throughout the day, but it was very windy. In some spots on the hill we were in knee deep snow and in the woods off the trails there was even more snow. One of the people I was with and I got stuck in the woods so we had to unstrap and crawl out. If we tried to walk we would sink in the snow to our waist. On the third day it was beautiful weather, it was very sunny and was a good temperature so we decided to go up to the peak, the best part of the peak was that because the day before It was so windy, all the snow got blown to that side of the mountain and in spots where no one had already been the snow was mid thigh high. The view was breath taking from the top. It looked like you could see forever because it is the highest peak around that area. Overall my spring break was a lot of fun.

A spoon

The water is drowning me. It splashes me all the time. The soap cleans me. Thats just the rinse cycle! Thats my favorite opart even though it is very scary. Thy drying cycle is the worst. It is so hot and I almost burn everytime. I feel like if I got one degree warmer I would burst into flames. It gets ridiculously hot and I hate it. I dred going into the dishwasher because of the drying cycle. But after that is done and I get unloaded and put back into my home all squeaky clean, its all worth it.

Invention for Mankind

If I could invent one thing to help mankind, I would invent a system that captures pollution. I would do this so we wouldn't have to worry about global warning and the ice caps melting. Right now it would also help with capturing the radiation in Japan so people wouldn't be egffected by it. I do not know how this would work at all! But it would.

I wish someone had told me...

I wish someone had told me that speaking your opinion and standing up for yourself is better than sitting in the shadows and letting other people make decisions. It would have been nice to know so I would have been a better decision maker and it probably would have helped with my confidence. When you stand up for yourself, or make decisions it makes you feel better and it makes people realize that you are not just someone to mess with. Also, if you stand up for what you want to do, and end up doing it, you'll have more fun than if you were just going along with the crowd and conforming. If you stand up for yourself you build character, you may stand out more than if you conform, but you are become a more unique person, instead of being like everyone else.

Science Fiction Brainstorm

Space ships
Living on the moon
Living on mars
Hover cars
Teleporting
The people dress in speed racer clothes and like robots
No one drives, if they dont want to, hover cars drive themselves

The shoe car

So, I made this car. It looks like a shoe. Its the best vehicle in the world. Everyone stops and stares when they see me going down the street. It goes a total speed of like 50 miles per hour, which is plenty for rolling around on the city streets. I haven't been pulled over for driving it yet, I don't know if I ever will or not, it doesn't matter either way. I'm pretty sure it is street legal. It also markets my company, its a shoe company, go figure. They are the best shoes ever made!  I would suggest that you buy them, the brand is called, A Little Shoe!

My Journey on a Pirate Ship

My best friend, my brother, his friend, and I have been captured by pirates. They came to my house and captured the four of us. Now we are on the ship in the middle of some big water somewhere in the world. They locked us away in the jail on the bottom of the ship. Eve though we have been captured by the pirates, we are still having fun and making jokes, but the pirates are getting mad because of it. We don't know what to do so when the watch pirate leaves the keys behind on accident, we take them, open the cell door, and go hide by all the cannons they have. When the pirate that left comes back, he notices and doesn't want to have to walk the plank so he starts looking all over for us, but can't find us. He goes to the opening in the ship where a cannon would stick out, and jumps off the ship so he doesn't get in trouble with the captain. Next we find some sweet pirate clothes so we dress up in them, go to the top and meander around trying to figure out where we are, but can't figure it out. So we pretend like we know what we are doing so they won't catch on that we aren't real pirates. After awhile we are figuring out how everything works and we enjoy the pirate life, so we all decided to become pirates, and we take the ship over and get a new crew for ourselves.

Big Rabbit

This rabbit was found in a man's backyard. He can't hope like most rabbits can, he walks like a dog. The only reason he was in the backyard was because he walked in there to find something to eat, but once he got there, he was tired so he had to take a nap. Some kids were going back to play in the yard when they realized that the rabbit was there, they told their dad and he picked up the rabbit, put it in the back of the truck and sped to the zoo because he thought this thing should be showed to the world. At the zoo the zoo keeper holding the animal in the picture couldn't believe his eyes and decided to make this a main attraction in the middle of the zoo. The big  rabbit gets everything a rabbit would want , and a lot of attention from the guests. Its living a life of luxury.

Fictional Character

Scooby Doo without Scooby snacks. I think if he didn't have Scooby snacks he would turn into a normal dog. He wouldn't be able to talk, or run super fast anymore. Without Scooby snacks "Scooby Doo" wouldn't be a show anymore. Their would be no Mystery Machine or gang, he would just be a normal dog with a normal dog life. He maybe would be best buds with Shaggy still but only if Shaggy owned him. Their would be a lot more food for people because he wouldn't be able to eat it all with Shaggy. The world would be less happy if Scooby snacks disappeared because Scooby brings humor and happiness to many people, adults and children alike. One of my all time favorite shows would never have existed because I think the Scooby snacks give Scooby the courage to go find the ghosts and catch the bad guys!

Lyrics assignment

Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles

1. I chose this song because it is a catchy song and I believe in what the lyrics say.

2. The story is thats it has been a long winter and the sun is finally coming out.
3. I do not think that there is a structure.

4. The song is a happy song and it is a sounds like it may be a relief the sun is out now.

5. The message would be that no matter what, the sun will come up eventually.

6. The intention is to make people in a better mood or to remind people things will get better eventually.

Stack of paper

The stack of paper is falling toward the shredder. All the paper thinks the same, all wondering what will happen, if they will ever be put together again, if it will hurt. The blades are twisting ready to cut and shred the paper to little pieces. The papers start to worry wondering if something will save them from their demise, it looks like nothing will, each one separately says their good byes. They begin to feel the wind created by the twisting blades. They brace themselves for the shredding to begin. All of a sudden they blades start getting farther away and start slowing down. All of the papers start to wonder why this was happening. The hand that was holding them slowly moves toward the table where they originally came from. All the papers yell and scream in relief that they are moving away from the shredder and are going to be together for at least a little longer. The hand slowly moves toward the table and gently sets them down where they were once before in the drawer labeled "bills".

Marian Bartsch and Joey Catsalgi met on his first day of work...

Marian Bartsch and Joey Catsalgi met on his first day of work and they didn't know each other. Most days they worked together were very slow. The two would talk the whole time at work and got to know each other and would eventually become best friends. They talked about their past, the future, the present, and anything that would pass the time to make work go by faster. Marian had been through a lot more than Joey had been as a little kid and Joey would encounter some of the thing Marian had already gone through. Whenever something happened the first person they would tell, was each other, they didn't care when it was, at work or outside of work. One day Joey didn't show up to work when he was suppose to so, which he never has done before, Marian knew something was wrong, he called Joey and no one answered. Marian asked one of the people that was working in the morning to stay so he could go see if something was wrong with Joey, Marian sped over to Joey's house but he wasn't there. Then, Marian took the route Joey would use to go to work, the road was icy and snowy that day, he saw tire tracks going off the road. When he looked to see if a car was down in the ditch he saw Joey's car upside down. The first thing he did was call 9-1-1. They rescue squad got there and managed to pull the badly injury person out of the car, he was going to be okay thanks to his best friend.

End of poetry unit

Poetry unit is over.
I am kinda sad,
Writing these have grown on me,
The structures make it fun.
Free writing poems are tough,
Rhyming is the best.
Villanelles are the toughest,
Sonnets are up there.
Assonance was the best.
Writing poems is not too bad,
I'm kinda starting to like it.
This unit is over.
It makes me sad.

Villanelle Poem

I need to take a pill.
My head feels so light.
I feel so ill.

Now I have a chill,
This doesn't feel right.
Where is the pill?

How long till,
I regain my sight?
I've never been this ill.

Everything is feeling still.
I have to keep up the fight.
No one has this pill.

The darkness is starting to fill.
All of the fright.
Why am I so ill?

This isn't a thrill.
What will happen later tonight?
Without this pill,
I've become so ill.

If I was going to die tomorrow....

If I was going to die tomorrow and I had unlimited resources, I would make my last day alive the best day. I would say good bye to all of my family and friends. Then I would go buy a crotch rocket because I have always wanted one and I would try to go as fast as I possibly could on it. I would also go buy a super fast car, like a Lamborghini and go through the city to see how many people would stare at me in the car and take pictures. I would travel to Europe because someday I want to go there and I would look at all the cool places and I would definitely go visit Germany because, even though I just started learning the language, I like it a lot and catch on to it fast. I would also try to do everything that I would never do in my life because it would be risking my life. I mean I'm going to die anyway, so it would be pointless to "play it safe". I would go sky diving and bungee jumping. I would try to race a rally car in the desert or somewhere where I wouldn't be able to completely destroy the wilderness, and the car if I was to crash. That is what I would do if I was going to die tomorrow.

Etheree Poem

Cold,
winter,
night is here,
wind blowing strong,
fresh air thru my lungs,
walking along the road,
I am numbing all around,
cars speeding by me like nothing,
I am stranded by myself tonight,
only if someone would help me one time.

How ridiculous I was as a...

How ridiculous I was as a young fellow. I always was playing in the rain, I would get drenched. Whenever I would go bounce on a trampoline  Iwould always see how many times I could twist around and usually I would fall on my back or my face. In elementary school I always was the goofy kid that made people laugh. Around my family I was always silly and would make fun of my uncles, aunts, cousins, and my parents. I remember once, my family went down to Florida and we went to Sea World for a full day and we saw everything that was there. The next day we went to the beach and I was worried that a shark, octopus, or a big fish was going to attack me and take me under water and never let me come back up. I also really wanted to see an alligator on the side of the road, in a pond off the road, or in the pool behind the house we stayed at. I would have been scared if one was back there though.

Changing the world

I would have a similar government to what the United States has, but I would make sure that my world would not go into huge debt like the United States. I would give the citizens set taxes so they didn't have to worry about taxes being raised all of the time. The people would elect others to run the world. I would also make sure everyone had a place to live and a job, the pay for those would vary. No one business would be much better than the next, they would all be close to equal with the products they made. Cars would be fuel efficient, and hopefully gas prices would be a little lower than it is right now. The people in the world would vote to make the big decisions that would affect everyone, this is so everyone has a say in what they want and the smaller choices would be decided by the elected government. College would be affordable and the people that knew what they wanted to do would only go to classes and schools for that particular thing, this is so the jobs people did was what they liked to do and they would be very good at it so everything would run more smooth and quickly. For the most part the world would be very equal. It would also be peaceful without war.

Concrete Poem

KAITLYN LAUGHED AT ME AND THAT IS WHY
I AM MAD AT HER. THIS IS SO A
LAUGHING MATTER FOR
ME. SHE SHOULDNT
HAVE LAUGHED
AT ME
IN
THE
FIRST
PLACE!
GRAWR. ITS
A VERY SAD DAY
TODAY AND ITS NOT
GOING TO GET ANY BETTER
THANKS TO KAITLYN LINDNER!

The house was made of…

The house was made of wobbly wood and sturdy steel. The yard was a mess with a wagon in the front with only one wheel. At night the stars would twinkle above in the dark sky. In the morning when the sun came out if you looked at the house you had to squint because the shine off the steel. There was an old woman and old man that lived in the house. The old woman was a little gabby and the man was the only one that could tune her out if he wanted to. When the wind blew, the house would shake because of the wobbly wood, the only reason it never fell was the sturdy steal on the outside of it. During storms the pitter patter of the rain hitting the ceiling would put the man and woman asleep no matter what time it was. One day they woke up and the one wheeled wagon, had no wheels, so the man went to the backyard and rustled around. He found a new wheel and put it on the wagon, it was a one wheeled wagon once again.

Sonnet

I can not stand how you make me feel now
I gave you almost everything I had
I do not know what else I can allow
Now it seems like all you only make me mad
I do not know what to do anymore
I am losing my mind because of you
I feel like you just went and closed the door
You made me crazy and I thought you knew
I gave you the key to my little heart
I let you in and you pushed away
I think that things ended awfully tart
Now I can't help but feel very astray
I, myself, will just have to move along
While I am at it, I may write a song.

Dinner Table

If I could invite any three people to dinner with me, they would be, my mom, my great grandma and my grandma Donna. I would invite these three people because they are the three that no matter what have always been there for me and that I will always love. My mom has made me the person I am today and made it so I am the way I am. My great grandma was always in my life, I would help her with her garden and my brother and I would go visit her at least once a week during the summer and as often as we could during the school year. I would invite my grandma Donna to it because, besides my mom, she raised me as a kid, I would go to her house Monday through Friday from 8:30ish in the morning to around 4 in the afternoon until 1st grade and then it was just during the summer and breaks from school. She is my second mom and she is also the reason I am the way I am today.

Assonance

This assonance ain't anything I wanna write
It doesn't seem like Mr. Krebs even reads them
This class is something I wanna master
My rhymes will chime with time
I use my phone, I don't mind if its shown
My heart starts to beat when I take my seat
My friend, Jenn, tends to talk to me
Reading my blog is like taking a jog
Its simple unlike having a dimple
Kaitlyn is definitely not satin
Poems are so fun, like playing in foam
Creative writing helps me keep fighting.

Scared

One time I was really scared was when I was snowmobiling with my friends at a cabin up north. We were on there lake and everything was going well, then we decided to find a trail to go to another lake that was right next to the one the cabin was on. We found the little path that went through to the neighboring lake so we went through it. We got to the lake and it looked like no one had snowmobiled on it besides for the part the trail was on, the sides of the lake were untouched and there was a bunch of snow so we went and were boon dogging in the fresh snow. I was going straight at a decent speed and I slowed down really fast, but I didn't think anything of it. So I turned around and went by the same area, but not in the same spot and it did it again but this time the back of the sled started sinking and I wasn't going faster no matter how fast I tried to go and all of a sudden I started going faster again. I looked behind me and saw water and ice spashing all over. My sled broke through the ice for, what looked like 50 yards, so I hurried off the lake and tried to get the others to come off to. They stopeed and asked why I went off the lake and I told them and one of them said that it also happened him.

Wordle: Untitled

Alliteration Poem

Super smooth snowboarders
Rambunctiously riding the rail
They hide there stuff like heavy hoarders
Gnarly tricks they gotta nail.

Mountain mayhem madness
The snow is not plowed, its puffy powder
Slamming doesn't cause sadness
I'd choose powder over calm chowder.

Free write #3

I worked last night. The cashier was very busy because we kept our gas prices down at $3.15 per gallon which was like 14 cents cheaper than everyone else I guess. The shop where I work was busier than it usually is, I did two tires last night. One of them had a nail in it and the person with the other one just wanted me to check for a leak. Thursday night, so tomorrow night, I am going to go to Buck Hill and probably do the "Thursday night rail jam", I did it last week but didn't do very well at all. So we'll see how I feel tomorrow and if I don't do it I will either watch the other people do it or I will go snowboard on the actual terrain park. Then I think on Saturday I am going to go again because I believe it is the "Rep your City" competition, I've never done that one before or even seen it. I don't know what else I will be doing this weekend, maybe hanging out with friends? Or something fun like that. I work tonight which I am not very excited about, I would rather go do something fun or just relax at home. Over Saturday over the long weekend I hung out with a friend, and her and I went to the mall with her family and then went to my Uncle's 50th birthday party. After that we went back to her house and play Xbox until I had to go home, it was a fun day. But then I got snowed in on Sunday and Monday I had to clear the driveway.

Earliest Childhood Memory

My favorite things to do when I was a little kid was motocross, baseball, and going to the cabin. We use to go racing every weekend during the spring all the way into the fall when the tracks closed for the season. We went all over the state and ion occasion would travel to a neighboring state to race at one of the bigger races. During the week when we weren't racing I would be playing in-house baseball with my friends, this was a big part of my life, it was where my family and I met friends that we still have to this day. On the few weekends we had off of racing we would go up to the cabin. Up there we would fish, float down the Kettle River, ride the four- wheelers, or ride the dirt bikes around. We would take the four-wheelers and dirt bikes down to the gravel pit just down the road and ride around there all of the time, until the guy that owned it put blocks on all of the entrances so we couldn't get in. Doing these three things are the earliest memories that I have.

Sense of Time Poem

January
January is white
The color of the snow on the ground
January feels like an ice bath
It sounds like the wind whistling
It smells like snowmobile gas
It tastes like hot cocoa
January is a month that can slip by or last forever

The man and woman

A man and woman walk in the night air. Their hands are shaking from what just happened, they were a happy couple and were walking in the city because it was calm, nice night. They went around a corner and there were all these people stnading there giving them bad looks. So they started to walk faster to try and get away from them, a few of the people started to follow them. No matter how fast they walked the couple could not get away from the strangers following them. When they got into a less crowded part of the town the strangers started running to the couple and then the couple started running away from them. The strangers eventually caught up to them and yelled at them to stop so the couple stopped. The strangers circled them and started talking to the couple, then one of them reaches into his pocket to pull something out. He slowly takes his hand out and has something in it, but its to dark to tell what it is. When it is completely out of his pocket the woman realizes it was her wallet, the stranger then hands it to the woman and says, "I think you dropped this."

Parts of Speech Poem

A dog
Strong but gentle
Playing and barking
Man's best friend.

Free writing #2

I worked last night. I work at the BP service station on Burnsville Parkway and 35W in Burnsville. I was cars before they go into the car wash, help the cashier with the store, and I also do whatever I can if someone comes in and needs help with their car. Last night was slow for the most part, I washed a few cars, I had one lady come in for a valve stem sensor that we had ordered for her the day before and when we told her the price she said forget it. I also had to stock the cooler and move one of them to get something that fell behind them. The four and a half hours I was there felt like forever. I don't work anymore this week so that is a plus. This three day weekend should be fun. I am staying at my sister's on Friday and then going to my uncle's 50th birthday party Saturday. Sunday I might hang out with a friend, but I know that night I am either going over to my cousin's house or she is coming to stay the night at my house, it's gonna be a party! I hope I can go snowboarding sometime soon, I haven't gone forever. Lax season is starting up at the end of next month, the kick off meeting was just on Tuesday night, so I have to start practicing and working out to be ready for try outs. I really hope my friend talks to me soon, I don't know why she wont or if I did anything that made her stop, I dislike it very much though! I might go visit Jenn at her work place on Saturday? Who knows! I hope it is an overall good weekend though!

Cinquain

The view
Takes your breath away
It is so beautiful
I never want to leave this place
Mountains.

I wake up...

I wake up and try to take a deep breath, but the deeper the breath the more severe the pain. The ground is hard beneath my back, and I feel a dull pain in my arm I try to move it, but it won't move no matter how hard I try. I start to panic and don't know what to do, I look around and realize I'm in the woods and I don't remember what for, and I start to think of what could have happened. Did I fall out of a tree? Did someone beat me up then drag me there? That was the least of my worries though, I had to get up and find help some how, I tried to yell but it was not very loud because the louder I got the more pain there was. So I got to my knees and then to my feet, and I started to walk, I have no idea where I am going but I figure if I go one way the whole time I will eventually find someone that may be able to help. As I stumble through the woods I hear things moving behind me, but when I look there is nothing there so I keep going. The farther and farther I go the more it hurts. After what feels like days of walking I come across a gravel road in the woods and sit there and wait for someone to come across me and help.

Life Metaphor

Life is a beach.
No matter what some days will be bad
Some will be good.
The view never changes
Unless you move somewhere else.
When it gets rough,
You just have to wait it out.
It can be amazing.
It can be horrible.
So just grab a towel and enjoy it.

Best Friend Journal

My best friend, Jenn, is one of the nicest people I have ever met. She is short and small but she has the biggest heart. She has always been there for me and is always there if I need to talk which makes her such an amazing friend. Sometimes we will not talk for awhile, but no matter what we pick up right where we left off and don't skip a beat. One time when I was not having a good day I texted her and she happened to be doing nothing at the time so she told me to come over so we could talk and so I would hopefully get my mind off of what was bothering me, so I went to her house and we sat outside in her front yard for a few hours and just talked, made jokes, and laughed. When I left her house I felt l lot better and like everything was going to end up alright. No matter what I know I can go to her if I need help or advice about anything, because she gives me the best advice and is extremely helpful all the time. This is one friend I hope will always be a big part of my life.

Simile poem

Snow like clouds beneath your feet
A view like a picture from a fairly tale
The cold wind brushing your face like a soft hand
A snowboard on your feet feels like that's what keeps you calm
Riding in the mountain powder is like heaven on earth.

Simile Activity

1. A calendar is like a mirror because it flashes before your eyes.
2. A sandwich is like a spoon because it holds everything.
3. An ice cube is like a cookie because it melts away.
4. A knife is like a whisper because you have to be gentle as you can be.
5. Kissing is like a careful collision because it could change things forever.
6. Rough skin feels like a peeled grape.
7. River valleys feel like leftover spaghetti.
8. Falling in love sounds like a heart beating because it is so frightening.
9. A dentist’s drill feels like a gold mine because it beats to the core.
10. Tomato soup tastes like bleeding hearts because there is no taste no more.

Out of the dark we came into the...

Out of the dark we came into the attic and there was a trumpet that was sitting there with light shining on the brass finish. Then my brother squealed because he saw a mouse scurry across the floor in front of him. As we kept walking the floor began to creek and we began to think it might be dangerous, but we kept moving forward. We found a crafty work of art that my grandma made when she was a little girl. As we were walking farther in it started to reek so we both decided to turn around and not discover what was making the disgusting smell. When we got out of the attuic we tiold our grandma everything and what we found and she wanted to go up and see for herself becuase she didn't believe us.

Limerick

You wish you had this shoe
It's black and blue
This kick
Is sick
You look like a foo'

10 years from now

Today I am at my house in the lovely state Minnesota with my family. I just woke up and cooked myself some breakfast before I head off to my police officer job. The job is not very exciting cause everyone in this city is respectful and they follow the rules. Today I have a feeling it will be a little different and something bad will happen, but I am not sure. Before I go to work though I have to drop the kids off at school, Jason is in 5th grade and my Lily is in second grade, they go to the same school and are very good kids. Maybe after work I will take Jason to the local ski/ snowboard hill and go snowboarding with him if he wants to. After I drop the kids off at school I go to work and get in my patrol car and start protecting the city from all evil.

Ode to Mom

Mom, mom, mom
You are a best friend
Never judgmental toward anyone
Always there to talk and listen
Honest to the core
Hate is unknown
The most caring person around
Never stop worrying about your friends and family
Everyday I miss you more and more
I love you mom.

Most Embarrassing Moment

An embarrassing moment is when I was in a dirtbike race and I was leading for the whole race and near the end of it I fell. It was at Brookston, which is a track up north and was one of my favorite tracks. I got the holeshot so I was in first from the very begining of the race and I was doing really well and was pulling away from teh person in second place and all my family that was there was watching and cheering me on. Then one of the last laps in a sandy corner in front of everyone I hit the front brake a little to hard and and the front wheel of my bike washed out and I fell. As soon as I got my bike up and was about to get going the person behind me passed me and I ended up getting second in the race. After the race the person that won came up to me and told me if I hadn't fell in that corner I would have won the race. This was embarrassing because it was the first time I had ever been in first place for almost the whole race, also when he told me I would have won if I didn't fall was embarrassing.

Daily Journal

So I panic. I freeze where I am while my brain tries to catch up to what is going on and process what is happening. The lion starts to walk toward me and show the massive teeth inside its mouth. I am shaking becuase I am so scared and then somehow my legs begin to move and I start running away, but I can't stop looking behind me. I see he is getting closer and I try to run faster but can't. Then I see a tree that looks like it would be easy to climb so I start running towards it, when I reach it I jump and start climbing it. The lion tries to jump and do the same thing as me but he is too heavy and the tree begins to shake and I hold on as tight as I can so I don't fall off. The lion all of a sudden jumps off the tree and lays down right under it, waiting for me to come down. After awhile his eyes start to close and he starts to fall alseep, so I begin to try to sneak away and climb down the tree. When I reach the ground I start carefully walking away but step on a branch and it snaps and the lion's eyes open and see me, but he closes them again and falls back alseep and I get away.

Haiku

I am all alone
I don't know what else to do
I always miss you.

Friday, February 4, 2011

Thank you.

Dear Amanda,
Thank you so much for always being there for me when I need someone to talk to. I can't thank you enough for caring about me and being a best friend to me. You are like a sister to me and you always will be. You've helped me through the toughest times I have had so far and you are the only one that has been there through everything. I am so grateful to have you in my life, I don't know what I would do, or where I would be without you. I remember the good old days when we would sit around my grandma's computer and play Oregon Trail all day! I wish we could go back to those days sometime, or at least get the crew back together up at the cabin? I think we should. Again, I can't thank you enough for being the best friend I never thought I would have and being there for me through everything and not walking away like other people did.

           Love,
               Jon

Best place in the World

Summer weekends, winter weekends, it doesn't matter when it is, the cabin is the best place in the world. Its always eaceful, away from the cities, away from problem at home. In the morning all you can hear is the birds singing and wind crashing through the woods that are around it. During the summer days the Kettle River down the hill is a perfect place to cool off on the hot days, or the private lake down the road is the place to go for fishing and swimming. On the winter days when you wake up and it is silent with a light snow layer on the trees. Shortly after you wake up the cabin becomes alive, snowmobiles start, dogs start playing, people start talking, the smell of food starts to fill the inside of the cabin. After a fun winter or summer day the grill is fired up and dinner is starting to cook while someone is making the fire to sit around and share stories or just spend quality time with family and friends. Then long after everyone goes to sleep you look up at the sky and see the starts and everything is quiet again.

Free Writing

In creative writing I want to learn how to write better and hopefully get a good grade in the class. I also want to use my imagination more and write about stories I have. I am hoping that this class will be very fun and that maybe by end of it I will enjoy writing for once.
